Kelso, WA (May 3, 2023) – One man was transported to a local hospital for the treatment of injuries following an explosion that occurred in the Kelso area on Monday morning, May 1.
At around 8:30 a.m., the Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue reported to the scene of an explosion that took place on Allen Street.
Reports show that an RV located in Brook Hollow Park, in the 2500 block of Allen Street, blew up during the morning hours. The explosion resulted in heavy fire, which overtook the 19-foot motorhome.
A 74-year-old man suffered injuries due to the fiery explosion. The man was transported by ambulance to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center, where he was provided further medical treatment.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and deemed the motorhome a total loss.
The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation.
