Gas Explosions in the United States
Every year, countless people are hurt as a result of explosions in the United States. Unfortunately, accidents involving gas leaks are especially devastating. Gas explosions can happen anywhere and at any time without warning, leaving innocent people with severe injuries that change their lives.
Some of the leading causes of gas explosions include faulty gas appliances, punctured gas lines due to excavation damage or natural disasters such as earthquakes or tornadoes, and human error during construction or renovation projects.
When a gas explosion occurs, it can cause severe injuries such as burns, fractures resulting from being knocked down by the force of the blast, respiratory trauma caused by inhalation of toxic fumes, and even traumatic brain injuries. The effects on survivors often extend beyond physical injury. Many people experience emotional distress, posttraumatic stress disorder, and even depression. Trying to overcome the overwhelming consequences of an explosion can be incredibly difficult.
