Wynnewood, OK (May 25, 2023) – On Tuesday morning, May 23, emergency crews were called to the scene of an explosion that took place in the Wynnewood area.
Reports provided by the Garvin County Sheriff’s Office indicate that at approximately 8:20 a.m., an explosion occurred at a refinery located off US Highway 77. Immediately following the explosion, fire ensued.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene to battle the blaze, which began in a gasoline hydrotreater.
Two people were injured as a result of the explosion. The victims were transported to area hospitals for emergency care. Their exact conditions have not been reported.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
