Russell, KS (June 5, 2023) – A major explosion incident sent one Fire Chief to an area hospital for the treatment of injuries.
The explosion took place at around 9:06 p.m. on June 2.
According to officials, an explosion occurred in a garage that was located in the 1700 block of North Main Street. Firefighters from the Russell Fire Department rushed to the scene to provide assistance.
A Fire Chief suffered injuries as a result of the explosion. The victim was rushed by Russell County EMS to a local hospital for emergency treatment. The victim was then transported to a burn unit in Wichita.
