Raymond, ME (July 3, 2023) – Emergency crews out of Raymond and Windham were summoned to the scene of an explosion that occurred on Saturday, July 1.

Fire Department crews rushed to the scene of the incident on Thomas Pond. According to fire officials, a boat was on the water when it exploded for unknown reasons.

Five people were on the boat at the time of the explosion. The individuals were all ejected into the water due to the force of the explosion. Bystanders rushed to the scene and assisted with removing the victims from the water.

Several of the injured parties were transported by ambulance to area hospitals for further treatment of burn injuries.

At this time, the incident is being investigated.
