Cedar Rapids, MI (July 23, 2023) – Emergency officials were called to the site of an explosion that occurred on Friday morning in the Cedar Rapids area.

On July 21, calls for assistance came in just before 11:00 a.m.

According to officials, a person was riding a jet ski on Cedar River when the watercraft exploded. First responders were in the area doing training at Mohawk Park and were able to rush to the scene immediately after the incident occurred.

The rider was injured as a result of the explosion. After receiving medical treatment briefly at the scene, the victim was transported to St Luke’s Hospital for emergency treatment.

At this time, the incident is being investigated.
