Buckingham, IA (August 15, 2023) – One person lost their life as a result of an explosion that took place in Tama County on Monday morning, August 14.

Just before 10:15 a.m., the Tama County Dispatch received a request for assistance regarding an incident on W Avenue.

Reports show that the home located at 1117 W Avenue exploded during the morning hours. The incident destroyed the home, which caught on fire immediately after the explosion.

One person was recovered from the home. The victim was fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene.

At this time, the incident is being investigated.
