Shelter Cover, CA (August 20, 2023) – An explosion involving a propane tank sent one person to a local hospital with injuries. At around 4:30 p.m. on August 19, emergency crews were called to the scene of an explosion that took place in the Shelter Cove area.
Reports from authorities show that a propane tank was in the process of being filled by a blue star worker when it exploded during the early evening hours. The Shelter Cove Fire Department responded to the scene of the incident, which was on Spur Court in the area near Seafoam Avenue.
Buildings in the area suffered widespread damage as a result of the explosion. The propane tank went flying down the hill after tearing off the side of a home.
One person was injured due to the explosion. A medical helicopter was called to the scene of the accident. The worker was transported to the landing site by ambulance and flown to an area hospital, where they underwent emergency care.
