Stockton, MD (August 22, 2023) – On Saturday morning, the Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the scene of a major explosion that ultimately claimed one man’s life.
The incident occurred at around 9:00 a.m. on August 19.
According to reports provided by authorities, an 80-year-old man was attempting to use a stove inside of his trailer that was located on Silva Road.
For unknown reasons, the propane tank exploded.
The man suffered severe injuries to over 90 percent of his body. He was rushed to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for emergency care. Authorities confirmed that he later passed away from his injuries.
The incident is being investigated at this time.
