On Thursday, the D.C. Fire and EMS responded to the scene of an incident in the 700 block of Irving Street.

Reports show that a man suffered critical injuries after the battery on his E-bicycle exploded while inside his home, which was located in the area of Irving Street and Georgia Avenue.

The man was rushed to an area hospital for emergency medical care. Authorities reported that he suffered significant burn injuries as a result of the incident.
