Explosions in Texas
A serious explosion can change your life forever. Regrettably, explosions that involve oil and gas tend to be some of the most severe. These incidents can cause widespread damage to nearby structures and serious injuries to those around them.
Unfortunately, there are many instances where people are left with blast injuries as a result of these explosions. These can be primary blast injuries, which result from the direct effects of the shockwave from the explosion, or secondary blast injuries, which are a result of flying debris. These injuries can result in bone fractures, severe lacerations, and other devastating consequences.
- Other injuries that individuals can suffer due to explosions include:
- Eye Injuries: Explosions can cause eye injuries such as corneal abrasions, foreign body penetration, or damage to the retina.
- Respiratory Injuries: Inhalation of smoke, dust, or toxic gases released during an explosion can result in respiratory injuries.
- Amputations: Severe blast injuries can lead to the loss of limbs or extremities.
Suffering any type of serious injury can have an overwhelming impact on your life. Unfortunately, many people are forced out of work for several weeks as they recover. The financial consequences that these accidents and being unable to work bring can be devastating. If you have been injured as a result of an explosion, you may have legal options. It is important that you seek guidance from a Wise County gas explosion lawyer as soon as possible. Your attorney will be able to investigate and determine who is liable for the injuries and damages that you have suffered.
