Elk Ridge, UT (September 26, 2023) – A 19-year-old man has died as a result of an explosion that took place in Utah County.

At around 4:15 p.m. on September 22, emergency crews were dispatched to the scene of an incident on Elk Ridge Drive.

Reports show that an explosion occurred inside the garage of a home located on the roadway during the early evening hours. Authorities arrived on-site and located the structure with significant damage.

Immediately after the explosion, a 19-year-old male inside the home was unaccounted for. Authorities searched the premises extensively. A short time later, the victim was found suffering from fatal injuries.

The cause of the explosion is being investigated.
