Fatal Explosions in Kansas

Bucklin, KS – Three Killed in Explosion on W Center StFatal explosions take the lives of hundreds of people every year in the United States. Far too often, these incidents are completely preventable. We see many explosions take place as a result of negligence. Leading factors in these explosions include:

  • The Presence of Flammable Materials: Having flammable materials, such as fuels, chemicals, or certain gases, can create an environment where an ignition source can lead to a devastating explosion.
  • Structural Failures: Issues with the structure, such as a gas line or a ruptured pipeline, can trigger explosions if there is a source of ignition nearby.
  • Hazardous Chemicals: Explosions involving the improper handling, storage, or transportation of hazardous chemicals and other substances can result in explosions. Any type of chemical reaction, fire, or even a leak can trigger these incidents.
  • Gas Leaks: Natural gas or propane leaks are a leading cause of explosions in commercial buildings. We see many explosions take place as a result of leaks from pipelines, faulty connections, or even appliances.
