Union County, SC (October 16, 2023) – The Union County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene of an explosion that took place on Friday afternoon, October 13.
At around 12:15 p.m., authorities were notified that an explosion took place in the 3500 block of Furman L Fendley Highway.
According to official reports, an explosion took place inside of a home located on the roadway during the afternoon hours. Authorities arrived at the scene and evacuated people from the structure.
One person was injured as a result of the explosion. The victim was transported by EMS to a local hospital for emergency care.
The incident is being investigated by the Union County Sheriff’s Office at this time.
