Grand Island, NE (October 17, 2023) – The Nebraska State Fire Marshal Agency confirmed that a 32-year-old woman lost her life as a result of a deadly explosion that occurred in central Nebraska.

The explosion occurred on October 13.

Reports provided by the State Fire Marshal Agency show that a chemical explosion took place inside of the PVE West Building at the Hornady Manufacturing Company location, which is in Grand Island in the area near Wood River.

One of the employees, identified as a 32-year-old woman, suffered fatal injuries due to the explosion. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Two other workers were injured as a result of the incident. Both victims were transported to an area hospital for emergency care.

Authorities are currently investigating the explosion.
