Lovells Township, MI (October 17, 2023) – A man and woman lost their lives as a result of an explosion that occurred on Saturday evening in Crawford County.
At around 4:10 p.m. on October 14, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the scene of an explosion that took place on Fruit Farm Road.
Reports show that an explosion occurred on the roadway during the evening hours that caused a home to completely collapse. Authorities believe a gas leak inside the residence was the cause of the explosion.
Authorities went to work quickly on trying to locate victims from the pile of crumbled debris.
Authority is located a 72-year-old woman and a 71-year-old man in the residence. Both victims were fatally injured.
The incident is currently being investigated.
