Licking, MO (December 7, 2023) – On December 5, the Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed that two people were injured as a result of a home explosion that took place in Texas County. The incident was reported at around 6:30 p.m.
According to reports provided by MSHP, the home located at 110 Myers Street was severely damaged as a result of an explosion that took place during the evening hours. The home was completely destroyed due to the explosion.
Authorities from both Salem County and Phelps County responded to assist. Two men, ages 73 and 77, were left significantly burned as a result of the explosion. Medical helicopters were requested. However, due to weather conditions, they were unable to respond. Both of the victims were transported to area hospitals for emergency care. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
