New Hampton, MO (December 12, 2023) – The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of an explosion that took place on Sunday evening in the New Hampton area. Calls for help were received on December 10 regarding an explosion on North Chipp Street.

Authorities confirmed that an explosion occurred in a residential structure located at 410 North Chipp Street during the evening hours. As a result of the explosion, the home became fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters out of Bethany, North Harrison, New Hampton, and Albany all responded to the scene to battle the blaze.

Four people were injured as a result of the explosion. Two of the victims were flown by medical helicopter to area hospitals for emergency care. Two additional victims were transported by ambulance. At this time, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
